Drive- Thru Children’s Book Sale!!!

Since the last one was so successful, SV Friends of the Library is excited to offer our second Drive-Thru Children’s Book Sale. Same quality books from our gently-used bookstore are pre-packaged into 3 groups: PreK, K-2nd, and 3rd-6th. Each bag is $5 and contains 18 books for the younger two groups, and 10-12 for older one. Exact change is requested. Books will be sold on a first come, first serve basis, while supplies last. Don’t forget to wear your mask! Proceeds go to the Library for materials and e-resources.

SVFOL Family Book Festival Revisited!

Reading Gives You Superpowers!

On Saturday, February 8th, 2020, our Family Book Festival was a great success.  Led by committee chair, Julia Hammond, families were treated to a presentation by Planet Kindergarten author Sue Ganz-Schmitt and learned to draw from Ninjatoons’ own Mike Voogd.  You could also take a picture with some superheroes and therapy dogs. Kids got their own super capes and had quite a few crafts to make.

In conjunction with our Family Book Festival, our committee donated new library books to each of our Simi Valley Schools.  In addition to thanking our Simi Valley Friends of the Library Family Book Festival Committee for all their hard work, we’d like to give a shout out to Kelly Behle and our much loved Simi Valley Library for partnering with us to put on this event.

We’d like to thank our other community partners  – Macaroni Kid, Ninjatoons, The City of Simi Valley and The Conejo Simi 4H Club as well for supporting this event. The City of Simi Valley through our Department of Public Works brought information that day about water and our world.  To learn more about becoming a superhero of water conservation, go to www.simivalley.org/WaterConservation.  For more information about the Conejo Simi 4H Club go to https://conejosimi4-h.weebly.com.
