Community Outreach
We partnered with Tiny Treasures and the Simi Valley Public Library today to spread the word about the library’s summer reading program, to help kids (and parents) make bookmarks and to give away some books!

SVFOL Family Book Festival Revisited!
Reading Gives You Superpowers!
On Saturday, February 8th, 2020, our Family Book Festival was a great success. Led by committee chair, Julia Hammond, families were treated to a presentation by Planet Kindergarten author Sue Ganz-Schmitt and learned to draw from Ninjatoons’ own Mike Voogd. You could also take a picture with some superheroes and therapy dogs. Kids got their own super capes and had quite a few crafts to make.
In conjunction with our Family Book Festival, our committee donated new library books to each of our Simi Valley Schools. In addition to thanking our Simi Valley Friends of the Library Family Book Festival Committee for all their hard work, we’d like to give a shout out to Kelly Behle and our much loved Simi Valley Library for partnering with us to put on this event.
We’d like to thank our other community partners – Macaroni Kid, Ninjatoons, The City of Simi Valley and The Conejo Simi 4H Club as well for supporting this event. The City of Simi Valley through our Department of Public Works brought information that day about water and our world.
